The case is made from 7mm Astroboard, a lightweight but very strong polypropylene honeycomb material. The case is fitted with interlocking aluminium sections to the joint edges to give a splash proof seal. Edges will be fitted with 22 mm aluminium angle. Zinc coated pressed steel stacking corners and edge brackets will increase strength and protection. The lid is secured to the base with two butterfly type catches at the front and with two hinges at the back. A recessed sprung handle will be fitted to the top. Internally the case is fully foam lined with a cavity under the printer for cables etc.1 Internal measurements are W450 x D280 x H170mm. The weight is approx 7.5kg.
